at this point it looks like it will be the us and australia down the home stretch.
australia still has 10 running
and the us has 12.
is what happens at 48 hours
when the race switches back to the trail?
it isnt an easy trail,
and some of the runners are no longer finishing road loops with a lot of time to spare.
going in to hour 47 the us has built up a 28 yard lead
and seem likely to extend that a little by 48 hours.
assuming australia keeps 10 on the course
that first trail loop is going to be something to watch keenly.
if australia is ever able to get a man or two up,
the race still has the potential to go a lot further.
the us has a good lead
but victory is far from a done deal.
