In the lands of the Sierra Tarahumara the Raramuri peoples have a proverb: “When you run on the Earth and with the Earth you can run forever” – come run forever. The Copper Canyons hosted the Mexican Championship for the 2020 Backyard Team World Championships and saw an amazing race that featured local Raramuri athletes go over 60 loops on a course that was over 9,000 ft elevation and had way too much elevation gain each loop. That course is now retired to history, and a venue much more favorable to going long has been established. You will run at the bottom of a Canyon system that is deeper and wider than the US Grand Canyon. The out-and-back course follows along the Rio Urique with magical views in every direction. December the weather should be ideal with no rain and perfect day and night temperatures, giving you every chance to meet and exceed your goals. Raramuri Corredores are known for their ability to run great distances, and this event will feature some of the best of the best athletes from throughout the Sierra. Come run with these inspiring runners and come run forever…..
**In addition to your race registration we will be offering all-inclusive transportation and lodging (steps from the startline!) for the event. The packages will include round trip transportation from Chihuahua to Urique on November 26th (allowing a full day of rest in Urique before the run) and returning December 1st and December 3rd. The lodging is located at the race start/finish line (at Entre Amigos one of the world’s most beautiful and famed hostels) and will be available to you throughout the duration of the event giving you quick access to a quiet place to rest and recover when desired. In addition the venue has two common kitchens, an organic garden and 17 types of tropical fruit for you to enjoy so no need to pack anything if you do not want.

All Raramuri athletes athletes attending are sponsored and all event proceeds are utilized to support this community. En las tierras de la Sierra Tarahumara los pueblos Raramuri tienen un proverbio: “Cuando corres sobre la Tierra y con la Tierra puedes correr para siempre” – ven corre para siempre. Las Barrancas del Cobre fueron sede del Campeonato Mexicano para el Campeonato Mundial por Equipos de Patio Trasero 2020 y vieron una carrera increíble que contó con atletas Rarámuri locales que recorrieron más de 60 bucles en un recorrido que tenía una elevación de más de 9,000 pies y tenía demasiada ganancia de elevación en cada bucle. Ese curso ahora se retira a la historia, y se ha establecido un lugar mucho más favorable para ir en largo. Correrás al fondo de un sistema de cañones que es más profundo y más ancho que el Gran Cañón de EE. UU. El recorrido de ida y vuelta sigue a lo largo del río Urique con vistas mágicas en todas direcciones. En diciembre, el clima debería ser ideal sin lluvia y temperaturas perfectas durante el día y la noche, lo que le brinda todas las oportunidades para alcanzar y superar sus objetivos. Los Raramuri Corredores son conocidos por su habilidad para correr grandes distancias, y este evento contará con algunos de los mejores atletas de toda la Sierra. **Además de su inscripción a la carrera, estaremos ofreciendo transporte y alojamiento todo incluido para el evento. Los paquetes incluirán transporte de ida y vuelta de Chihuahua a Urique el 26 de noviembre (permitiendo un día completo de descanso en Urique antes de la carrera) y de regreso el 1 y 3 de diciembre. El alojamiento está ubicado en la línea de salida/meta de la carrera (en uno de los albergues más hermosos y famosos del mundo) y estará disponible para usted durante la duración del evento, lo que le brinda acceso rápido a un lugar tranquilo para descansar y recuperarse cuando lo desee. Además, el lugar cuenta con dos cocinas comunes, un jardín orgánico y 17 tipos de frutas tropicales para que disfrutes, así que no necesitas empacar nada si no quieres.
