Backyard Ultra Warmia is a race that takes place in the picturesque Warmia Region, located in the North-East of Poland. The event is held in a serene and beautiful location about 5 km away from the regional capital city – Olsztyn, in the forest.

The route is circumnavigating Kielarskie Lake, with a majority of the course in the woods, passing by Łyna river and only one quiet village – Ruś. The route of the race is carefully crafted to provide runners with a memorable experience that encapsulates the natural beauty of the region. The wilderness, forest, lakes, and rivers are sure to capture the hearts of nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers.

85% of the course is on the trail and unpaved roads, and 15% is on asphalt. Be prepared for some vertical meters as on each yard there is a 100m to climb, so this is not going to be a walk in the park ;-).

The event attracts the best backyarders from the country, and while running on Warmia, you can be sure that you will get a chance to run really far and establish your new PB. During both editions of Backyard Ultra Warmia, Polish national records were set at new levels, with #41 loops achieved in 2023 and an impressive #70 loops completed in 2024.

So, if you are ready to push your limits, challenge your endurance, and experience the breathtaking scenery of the Warmia region, come and run as many yards as you can with us!

Because it’s easy. Until it’s not.
