In honor of our heritage and culture of the region, we want to call the race the “Coalfields Backyard Ultra.” It is a down-and-back course that starts and ends at our local community college.
We are getting excited about hosting our first Backyard Ultra in West Virginia! It is also exciting to be selected as a Bronze event towards the path of the Big’s Backyard Ultra in 2024!
The winner of our race will compete outside Washington, DC, at the Silver race, Capitol Backyard Ultra in 2025. The Tug Valley Road Runners will take care of our Bronze winner’s entry fee at Capital Backyard Ultra.
The winner of the Silver races will be placed on the National team to compete with the World at Big’s Backyard Ultra in October 2025!!
Join us this Memorial Day weekend, May 24, at 7pm start, in Williamson, WV, home of the Conquer the Wall 47hr and 35hr Endurance Challenge!! The race is located at Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College, 1601 Co Hwy 52/27, Williamson, WV 25661
