The Pig On The Hill BACKYARD ULTRA is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run the distance of 6706 meters (4.167 miles) in less than one hour. When each lap is completed, the remaining time within the hour is typically used to recover for the next hour’s race.

Camping is included and the campsite opens at 12 noon on the Friday of the race. This is a very remote event destination and the facilities are very limited.

A horn will be sounded exactly on the hour and if you have failed to make the starting area before the horn is sounded for the next loop then you are disqualified from the events, no buts,nothing,you are out!

The last remaining to complete a lap of the course will be named the winner.

At the time of writing this we are organising the event with covid restrictions in place, so please have this in mind with the following:-

All kit that is not being used must remain in your car/tent,have a think about this when you park/camp as if you go and pick something up and you’re late for the start then you will be DNFd

Hints & Tips

Its all about figuring out your pace, how fast/slow you go and a test loop around is advised as it’s mixed terrain with a few short verts.

We have our own micro climate here on the Llyn and August can be hot and Raining so please prepare accordingly
