The 4.167-mile trail loop runs through Camp Jordan Park.  The loop will consist of the exterior track, gravel, and grass.  The course is flat, runnable, and non-technical.

This is a Chattanooga Track Club event, and this is our third backyard ultra event and will be one of the track clubs’ first races of the year. In 2021, Frank Lanno completed 16 loops for a total of 66 miles.  In 2022, Kyle Kalbus completed 32 loops for a total of 133 miles.

MAD backyard ultra has been slotted as a bronze ticket event, and our winner will have a place reserved to enter the Bob’s Big Timber Backyard Ultra in Ohio, a silver ticket event, meaning the winner of the silver ticket event has a place on the national team to compete in the satellite world team backyard championships in 2024 at the Big Dogs Backyard Ultra in Bell Buckle Tennessee.

Participants will run a 4.1667-mile loop every hour until only one person is standing. You have one hour to finish the loop once it has started. If you finish a loop within the hour, you may start the next hour’s loop provided you are in the start corral when the next hour starts. If you do not finish within the hour, you are out of the race and considered a DNF.
