A beautiful closed park course mixes wide, flat trails and multiple surfaces to help you run forever. You will circle beautiful Crooked lake on a cinder path and then turn onto the paved River loop where you will enjoy shaded woods and over 1000 feet of boardwalk through a peaceful waterfowl preserve. Independence Oaks Park in May will provide the cool weather you need to run for days.
In addition to the Twin Chimneys party pavilion and formal bathrooms that keep us comfortable at the start/finish, there is family-friendly camping on-site near the race course. The Wilderness Campground facility includes an on-site bathroom facility with hot showers. Enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, archery, and an interactive nature center.
