We are kicking off the 2023 Backyard Ultra Series at the Taroko Trail Backyard Ultra. Runners will be treated to a stunning course along dams, through forest and grasslands. The Highveld weather conditions in May are perfectly suited for runners who are looking for cooler temperatures to push their limits.
The backyard ultra is a very unique trail running experience. It is a race against yourself, it is a race where runners challenge themselves and each other to see how far they are willing to go. With “Just One More Lap” being repeated in your mind, the support you get from your family and friends and the encouragement you get from other runners – this is a race not to be missed.

Silver Ticket Event:
Taroko Trail Backyard Ultra is a ‘Silver Ticket’ event meaning that the winners of the Silver Ticket events will have a place on the national team. The Backyard Ultra World Team Champs will take place on the 15th of October 2024.
