The 6.7km loop will start near to the UEFA Football Headquarters just outside of the city of Nyon which is located 15 minutes drive from Geneva in Switzerland. The loop will begin within the stadium where all facilities will be provided including refreshments, toilets and showers etc. After completing a loop of the track the athletes will pass out of the stadium and start the main loop on the small country roads in the Swiss countryside. The route is mostly flat on good road surfaces which are absent from traffic and will provide the athletes with spectacular views of the French Alps including the iconic Mont Blanc which can be seen from the run course on a clear day.
As the event will be held in June we hope that this will also bring spectacular weather with prolonged periods of sunshine and daylight for the athletes.
During the same weekend the Nyon Backyard Ultra will also share venue and facilities with the 24h de la Cote which is a 24 hour running event which will start on the Saturday morning and athletes will do laps of the track with the winner recording the longest distance in 24hrs. Therefore this is set to be a full weekend festival of running and we look forward to welcoming athletes, supporters and their families to the event.
Backyard Ultra races are growing in popularity in Switzerland and we are therefore proud to host this race which will be the first in the Francophone French speaking part of the country.
Registrations will open shortly as we are in the process of finalising our event website and social media pages.
